Two years ago, Konkrete Jungle Bowling Green was born. We adopted the legacy of Konkrete Jungle, the longest-running drum & bass weekly in the world based in NYC, and we took on the mission to push the sounds of bass music. Bowling Green was hungry for a fresh music scene. Clazel Theater was the perfect atmosphere, ripe for a event's rise to prominence. The local music enthusiasts were ready. With a rock solid foundation – the right city, the right venue, the right people – we created a truly unique event series. We adapted the legacy of Konkrete Jungle to our scene and have made an impact.

From the unprecedented Beatday 5 launch on August 31st, 2010 – to hosting Metalheadz talent just one month later – to the big move from Tuesdays to Thursdays – to the huge attendance growth in the Spring of '11 - to a semester closer with headliners from Thailand and The Netherlands – to the sell-out all-vinyl 1-year anniversary event of Beatday 6 – to an epic zombie invasion Halloween event with bass don Liondub – to a booming addition of reinforcement subwoofers in early 2012 – to the surprising return of the two international headliners - to now, with huge announcements around the corner. All from a humble, organic beginning.

And a lot of eyes have been on us. Not only locally and regionally, but nationally and internationally. Much attention has been given to the humble city of Bowling Green and it's ability to host quality and culturally-mindful events. We've left each performing artist with unforgettable memories, which has in turn excited talent far and wide with the prospect of touching down here. Bowling Green is not just an option; it is a destination. And we are the ones that put it on the map.

All because Konkrete Jungle Bowling Green is different. We embrace bass music holistically, not as a pigeon-holed selection of genres. We carefully balance the needs of our diverse community while leaving the politics, outside interests, ego, drama, and hype games at the door. We're mindful of the future of the music like no other event series, bringing through a diverse roster of talent. We've been labeled as the "bass music event that does it right," showing that in the midst of a huge turning point in dance music culture, we can do something no one else is doing and we can continue to take things to the next level. All without emptying your wallet.

So here we are, only two years in, ready to come back strong after a summer of festivals, hot and sunny weather, and plenty of good vibes. And with no exaggeration, this event is destined to outdo our 1-year anniversary, which sold out and had a line a block down the street all night. It's time to bring Konkrete Jungle Bowling Green into the future. It's time to let everyone know how serious we are.

Bass-heavy sound reinforcement by IMIJ Sound (NW Ohio / Michigan)
Since the beginning of 2012, IMIJ Sound has provided KJBG with subwoofer reinforcement, more than doubling the low-end capacity of Clazel's already-massive soundsystem. These EAW concert subs will make your hairs tingling with every bass kick.

Cutting-edge LED lighting by Cosmic Colors (Pennsylvania)

Coming all the way from Pennsylvania for a *one-time* special addition to the already-impressive lighting of Clazel, Cosmic Colors is providing a brand spankin' new LED lighting rig that will melt your eyeballs. Blink twice before entering, because you won't be able to look away once you see how crisp, colorful, and mind-bending these LED lights are.

Representing Baltimore, JoeNice is universally recognized as the ambassador of the dubstep sound in North America and has been instrumental in the growth and success of dubstep for over a decade. Essentially, he's been playing dubstep before it was called dubstep and he is the first dubstep DJ on this side of the Atlantic Ocean.

His worldwide fan base continues to grow with his enthusiastic stage presence and live performance, upfront selection and skillful mixing. Joe has transitioned his monthly radio show to the award-winning SubFM, where his GourmetBeats radio show can be heard on the second Tuesday of each month, 7pm - 9pm EST. His bag of 10" dubplates is a "who's who" of dubstep... If you've never heard it before, chances are, you'll hear it from Joe Nice.

He is the first American-based DJ to play on London pirate radio, Rinse FM, the first American-based DJ to play the legendary DMZ bi-monthly bash and the first American-based DJ to play FWD>> @ Plastic People. WALKINGSTICK
(Jungle / Soul - Oakland, CA)
(Walkingstick World Records / Jungle Sky / Hip Step / TXP / Jungle Riddim)

Walkingstick is a true DJ at heart and loves music in its many forms. But, when it comes to production or laying down some business on the turn tables, Jungle is often the weapon of choice. Walkingstick’s style embodies that warm, fuzzy, old-school vibe that we all long for. He is a fiend for gut-churning sub-bass, humorous cult movie samples, karate chopped drum loops and inside out vocals that will bring a tear to your eye. This Ohio native, now residing in Oakland, CA and working in the medical cannabis industry, has also been known for his involvement in throwing some of Pittsburgh, PA’s most memorable raves (’99-‘05).

Brian first hit the scene as a DJ in 1998 while attending art school in Pittsburgh, Pa. It did not take him long to become a regular in the Pittsburgh/Cleveland rave and club scene, and he soon began hosting events of his own. With help from long-time friend Bedford, the two made up TOTAL XPERIENCE PRODUCTIONS and threw memorable events like NO DOZE (’99), HUMBLE (’00), HOME GROWN (’00) and many more through 2005.

Walkingstick has been very fortunate to land gigs throughout the U.S., Scotland, Puerto Rico and for many years was a regular guest at some of Brazil’s hottest clubs, raves and festivals. Brian was first invited to Brazil by Carlos “Soul” Slinger of Jungle Sky Records. As a friend and mentor, Carlos provided Brian with great inspiration and motivation. Over the years Walkingstick also formed a bond with MC TC Izlam. The two shared the stage many times domestically and even on a few occasions in Brazil.

Shortly after joining forces with the JUNGLE RIDDIM crew in 2002 Brian began releasing his own productions on vinyl. The first track, “STEADY G’d UP!!!”, was released on JUNGLE RIDDIM 003 and also featured a cut from U-OME. Soon after, Brian launched his own label, WALKINGSTICK WORLD RECORDS. To date, the label has featured 3 vinyl releases that have showcased talent from around the globe; Mr. Catra and Digital Dubs Sound System from Brazil, Jah Condah and Smokah from Russia, Sky-D of Switzerland, and from the U.S.A.; Meuwl (R.I.P.), B.Rude , JQuest and of course Walkingstick.

More recently you may have seen Walkingstick on several episodes of KOFY TV’s “Dance Party” as well as Discovery Channels "Weed Wars". "Dance Party" airs each Sunday at 8PM in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. The "Weed Wars" reality series can now be seen in reruns on Discovery Channel. What is next for this talented artist? Stay tuned to find out!

FOI OI OI & WHAT THE BLEEP
(Ragga Jungle - Columbus / Bowling Green, OH)
(Electronic Enlightenment / URU / Konkrete Jungle Bowling Green)

Rooted in a friendship formed in 2004, foi oi oi and What the Bleep are tag team partners hailing from Ohio. "Ragga jungle" is the most accurate label used to describe what they play – as they are junglists that lean toward reggae-influenced styles – but they truthfully are not bound by any specific genre. Instead, their focus is on a positive bass music experience with undertones of ragga and dubwise. Their mindfulness of a dancefloor’s needs is reflected in their diverse selection of drum & bass, juke, footwork, roots dubstep, dub reggae, dancehall, and more.

As their individual musical tastes matured over the years, their duo performance evolved into something much greater than the sum of the parts. Recently they released another iteration of their widely-popular annual mixtape in honor of their Detroit Electronic Music Festival tradition. Each year they attend the festival, perform at afterparties, and spread their junglist sound as "brothers". This year’s CD release took on a new greatly-refined form, fluidly transitioning through a surprising multiplicity of sound: "Feelings for Detroit Vol. 6: Water Sound". And to open the floodgates for new ears to experience a refreshing bass music experience, they embarked on a CD-release East Coast mini-tour in late July 2012: "foi oi oi & What the Bleep’s Water Sound Voyage".
